As part of the CEF call, investments in European intermodal infrastructures such as rail and port networks, new forms of mobility and alternative fuels are supported.

The non-repayable grant can reach up to 85% for the study and design phase while it aligns between 10% and 40% for infrastructure and plant investments.

The Call provides for the possibility of co-financing project proposals with the Blending Operation mechanism: a combination of non-repayable fund and loans from public or private financial institutions.

Financing provided

Interreg is a tool divided into various strands that support the creation of models, good practices and even small investments.

The call provides for different types including "Europe" which sees the preferential involvement of European regions, "MED" which focuses on the regions bordering the Mediterranean, "Cross-border" (eg. Ita-Croatia, Slovenia, Austria) in which finance logics and infrastructural works that embrace two European nations.

Partnerships are mandatory and usually involve 10 to 12 organizations with a total budget of 2.5 to 3 million euros for the entire partnership with an average grant of 75% - 80%.
For the Italian Public Partners with the Rotation Fund it is possible to reach 100%.

Timetable for submitting projects

The deadlines change according to the type and are located between November 2022 and May 2023.
